FAQs

Our exercise rehabilitation is a structured and progressive programme designed for you, to restore strength, mobility, and function after an injury or surgery. The length of rehabilitation varies based on the severity of the injury and the individual. It can range from a few weeks for minor injuries to several months for a more severe injury. We will always aim to give you an idea of timescale but this is dependant on so many other factors and how consistent you are with your programme!

The traditional approach for an injury revolves around an initial assessment where you might receive some treatment and then sent away with a few exercises on a sheet of paper or online. These programmes don’t offer any structure or progression and are not integrated into your normal training schedule. We want to stress that even though you have an injury to one area, it doesn’t mean you can’t train the rest of your body! We take a full body approach, consider your sport and activity, and design a complete programme aimed at retaining as much strength and conditioning as you can whilst rehabbing the injured site. We provide 24/7 support which results in great rehab outcomes for our athletes and a quicker return to sport and activity.

Here at The Rehab Coach we take the guess work out of your rehab. We use objective measuring tools with our VALD technology to gain specific values for your strength, range of movement and plyometric measurements. We tailor your rehab each week to progress and adjust for any changes in your testing scores. This allows us to check that you are meeting the specific goals for each stage of rehab before moving onto the next phase, ensuring a safe and well informed return to performance.

Rehabilitation typically begins immediately after injury. Using the traditional RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) approach where appropriate, to protect the injured structure and allow the bodies natural healing process. For the best rehab outcomes, getting some advice as soon as you can after injury will put you in the best position to make a full recovery. We can also advise if you will need any imaging to confirm an injury, protection with the use of a brace, boot or slings, or other forms of machine based interventions to help improve your rehab outcome.
-
Absolutely. Our programme allows complete flexibility as to how, when and how often you do your rehabilitation. During your initial consultation we will lay out our suggested plan, considering your training schedule, job, finances, children and any other lifestyle factors that may affect your rehab. We have options ranging from completely remote rehab plans all the way up to seeing our coaches multiple times per week, and will strive to find a balance that works for you.
